Smart home systems that stay yours — built around Home Assistant

Camera apps and cloud hubs are fine until they change pricing, break an integration, or stop working offline. We design local-first automation for Denver and Boulder homes: reliable daily use, secure remote access, and a clear path to AI-assisted diagnostics later — without handing your house to a black-box agent.

The stack we build around

Engineering choices first — then brand names. This is what makes the system maintainable after install day.

Home Assistant

Local control plane

Runs on your network. You own the data. Cloud is optional, not required.

Zigbee / Z-Wave / Matter

Device fabric

We choose the right radio stack for your home instead of forcing one vendor.

Cameras & sensors

Situational awareness

Presence, doors, climate, leak, and video — wired into useful automations, not noise.

Secure remote access

Access without exposure

Tailscale / Cloudflare Tunnel patterns — never a naked open port to the internet.

Diagnostic tools

Problem solving

Network, thermal, moisture, and equipment checks when something is not behaving.

Security posture

Smart homes fail at the network edge more often than at the light switch. We treat access, credentials, and future agents as part of the install — not an afterthought.

Local-first by default

Critical automations run on your LAN. Internet outages should not brick lights, locks, or climate.

Least privilege

Integrations and future AI agents get the minimum permissions required. Write actions are gated.

No open ports

Remote access uses private tunnels or authenticated reverse proxies — not port-forwarded Home Assistant.

Documented ownership

You receive credentials, backups guidance, and a plain-English map of what is connected and why.

Coming next

AI agents with specific talents — and hard limits

We are building focused problem-solvers for diagnostics and automation drafting. They start advisory. Unattended device control is not on the default path.

Jump to agents

Home Assistant Advisor

beta

Analyzes pasted entity / states dumps for health issues and suggests fixes. No live writes; gated under /tools.

  • Paste-only inventory today (no persistent HA tokens in browser)
  • Human approval before any future device action
  • Authenticated tools session required

Network & Wi-Fi Diagnostic Agent

beta

Symptom checklist that drafts mesh / IoT VLAN / camera triage steps during site visits. Gated under /tools/network-diag.

  • Runs from technician session only
  • No live network scans or stored customer credentials
  • Recommendations only — human applies changes

Equipment Diagnostic Agent

planned

Interprets thermal / moisture / sensor patterns and drafts a clear next-step report for the homeowner.

  • Outputs recommendations only
  • Does not schedule work or charge accounts

Automation Builder Agent

planned

Turns plain-English requests into Home Assistant automation drafts for review before publish.

  • Drafts only until homeowner confirms
  • Sandbox validation before production YAML

Smart home FAQ

Do I need a subscription to a big smart-home brand?

No. Home Assistant is open-source and runs locally. You can still use individual cloud devices when useful, but the hub does not depend on a monthly lock-in.

Can you work with what I already own?

Usually yes. We inventory your existing cameras, thermostats, lights, and hubs, then design a practical migration path instead of forcing a rip-and-replace.

Is Home Assistant hard to maintain?

It can be — if it is left undocumented. Our installs include owner walkthrough, backup guidance, and optional follow-up support so you are not stuck with a fragile science project.

Will AI agents control my house automatically?

Not by default. Future agents start in advisory / draft mode. Any action that changes devices requires explicit approval and scoped credentials.

Do you only do Home Assistant?

Home Assistant is our preferred control plane, but the job starts with your goals: reliable lighting, cameras that notify usefully, AV that works, and networks that keep IoT devices from choking the house.

Tell us what you already own, what frustrates you, and what a good day with your home tech should look like. We will propose a clear package or custom path.
